TIMES NIE 2025

On Monday, 14 July 2025, National Public School, Yeshwanthpur had the honour of welcoming a distinguished delegation from Times NIE, a leading student initiative by The Times of India Group. The visit aimed to enhance student engagement in media literacy, creative expression and school journalism.

The delegation included senior leaders such as Ms Melody (Editor-in-Chief, TOI Student Edition), Mr Sanjiv Kaura (Child Pedagogy Expert), Ms Deepti Mehra (National Head, Times NIE), Ms Charanya Krishnan and Ms Susan Mathews. They were warmly received by Principal Ms Sheeja Manoj, who acknowledged Times NIE’s valuable role in promoting reading habits and critical thinking among students for nearly a decade. She also brought out the student lead initiatives like Newspectives and the school’s in-house newsletter into discussion as part of schools standards of promoting literary skills.

During the session, students and teachers shared feedback on the NIE content, appreciating its educational value while suggesting more interactive, student-led features for younger readers. The Times NIE team welcomed these insights and shared plans to adapt their content accordingly.

In response, new formats such as comics, mandala art and crosswords have been introduced to encourage creativity and increase engagement. The visit concluded with a cordial exchange of mementos, reaffirming the strong partnership between NPS Yeshwanthpur and Times NIE and a shared commitment
