As part of National Space Day 2025 celebration, Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), Bengaluru, organised an engaging and educational competitions titled ‘Skies Then and Now – Ancient vs Modern Sky Challenge’ for students of Classes 8 to 10 and ‘Remember the Sky – The Constellation Memory Challenge’ for students of Classes 5 to 7 on 23 August 2025, Saturday. In the competition ‘Skies Then and Now – Ancient vs Modern Sky Challenge’, the team presented a powerpoint presentation on star maps over the centuries, nomenclature of the constellations in various civilizations, the constellations in the Indian calendar systems, etc. During ‘Remember the Sky – The Constellation Memory Challenge,’ participants were briefly shown constellation outlines and characters before taking a quiz. The competition encouraged participants to showcase their originality, creativity, and ingenuity by producing distinctive and attention-grabbing creations. It cultivated vital values, especially cooperation and teamwork. Participants developed essential social skills, such as clear communication, mutual trust and shared responsibility.
